Homemade Zoodles
Zoodles (Zucchini Noodles) are not a new thing.  They're just new to me!  I've seen them in the store.  I've tried them once or twice.  This weekend I took the plunge and bought a spiralizer from Target.  Now I'm OBSESSED!

Spiralized veggies are GREAT if expensive!!  Expect to pay between $5-$9 for a small package at the grocery store!

The cost to purchase a basic handheld spiralizer is about $10.

There are a million spiral veggie makers on the market.  Because I have limited storage space, I prefer the handheld version.  It takes almost no time at all of figure out how to perfect Zoodle making.  PLUS you can spiral cut carrots, squash or whatever you like!

This weekend I made carrot noodles and served them with veggie curry.

I also made zucchini noodles and served them with Spicy Sesame Sauce.

Cooking the noodles could not be easier.  I heated a little olive oil in a pan, tossed in the noodles and sauteed them for 2 minutes.  Added salt and slid them onto a plate.

You can top these noodles with anything you like.  I'm a sauce girl so all of my noodles got a yummy sauce!

There are a couple of pro tips that you'll need to know before making veggie noodles.

1. Veggies can sweat.  After you cut the noodles, allow them to rest on a paper towel before you cook or store them.

2. Store noodles in a sealed container in the refrigerator wrapped in a paper towel.  This will keep noodles from getting soggy.

3.   Cook noodles for 1-3 minutes.  Over cooked noodles will be mushy.
