My new wrist rest

9:38 AM

I have this terrible habit of destroying my wrist support thingy.  I'm sure there's some "official" name for these other than wrist rest, but I don't know that that name would be.

So here's the problem.  When I stop typing to think I rest my elbow on the wrist support.  This feels lovely and helps my brain get in gear.  The problem is that it ruins the wrist support.

My pretty carpel tunnel preventer is turned into a clouded leaking mess in short order.  No matter what kind I buy they always end up leaking sticky goo all over my desk.  A bit of packing tape will keep the goo inside for a little while, but alas, I ALWAYS end up tossing these babies in the trash.

I've come up with a solution that I think will work for me.  Today is my first day trying it so I'll report back and let you know how it's going.

I made my own wrist support!

It's pretty, it's coffee themed and it won't slip around.

This was a SUPER easy project to make and just took a few minutes.

This wrist support has a cotton fabric top, a non-skid bottom and is filled with brown rice.  Non-skid fabric is the same stuff that little kids have on the bottom of there footy pajamas.  You can buy it at any fabric store.

This support is made entirely of fabric scraps I had around the house, so I have no idea how much it would cost to make.  Can't be too much.

If you decided to make this beauty, my best advice is to only fill it 3/4 of the way full with rice.  That way you can mush it around a bit to make it fit your needs.

Happy Sewing!!!!

This was a big cooking weekend for me.  I'll be posting my kitchen creations on my What's For Dinner Blog later today!  Be sure to check me out there!
