Cold Brew Coffee |
While cold brew is naturally sweeter than heat brewed coffee, sometimes I want a little extra sweetness.

Sugar does not mix well |
Adding sugar to iced drinks is frustrating. All of the sweetness sinks to the bottom of the glass. The solution: is coffee syrup. Whether it's flavored or plain, the syrup mixes easily and evenly!

Simple Syrup |
SIMPLY SYRUP
Simply syrup is plain sugar syrup that mixes easily into cold drinks.
Recipe:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
Combine all ingredients in a pan. Heat over medium heat until sugar melts. Remove from heat. Allow to cool.
SALTED CARAMEL COFFEE SYRUP
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
Combine brown sugar, water and salt in a pan. Heat over medium flame until the sugar is completely melted. Stir. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.
Cool.
This syrup will thicken slightly as it cools.
Easy right!?
PRO TIP:
If you don't have brown sugar on hand you can make your own. Combine 1 cup of white sugar with 1 Tablespoon of molasses.
SUPER PRO TIP:
For extra dark sugar add a little molasses.
